Hibiscus Redhas been set up with charitable aims to develop, run and promote the London International Disability Film Festival. Hibiscus Red also seeks to inspire deaf and disabled filmmakers and performers to create new work, and to encourage and mentor young and developing disabled filmmakers in their chosen field.
Hibiscus Red already has the support of BBC, Film London, Director's Guild of Great Britain and the National Film and Television School, and we are now actively seeking funds to make the Disability Film Festival an ongoing reality.
Our first public event was held at the BFI Southbank on Tuesday 9th June 6.30pm. The future of the festival and the intentions for the Hibiscus Red charity were discussed in depth. For a full report please see our News section.
